Who We Are
Haali‑Pular New Jersey (HPNJ) is a non‑profit organization organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational and cultural purposes. We promote the unity, religious values and cultural heritage of the Fulani (Pular) community in New Jersey and surrounding areas, while fostering educational opportunities, youth programs and community engagement.
Membership is open to all individuals who support our mission. We operate in compliance with U.S. laws and financial regulations— maintaining our funds in U.S. financial institutions with dual signatories and prohibiting any part of our net earnings from benefiting private individuals or political campaigns.
Our Programs
Our signature initiative is the construction of a mosque in Newark, NJ—creating a permanent place of worship and community for Fulani families and friends. We also support educational programs and scholarships to empower our youth, and organize cultural events that celebrate Pulaar heritage. Learn more about these efforts on our Programs page.
Our Community
The Fulani people (also known as Fulbe) are present in more than twenty countries across West and Central Africa. At Haali‑Pular NJ we draw on this rich heritage to build a sense of belonging among Fulani descendants in New Jersey and across the United States. We promote acts of charity, brotherhood and fraternity to lift humanity and restore hope.
We support youth awareness of social rights and responsibilities and empower vulnerable members with startup grants, educational opportunities and other resources to help fight poverty.
